Many of us were estatic when our head coach outlined his philosophy for playing football. If you'll remember, he talked about big fast receivers, multiple formations and looks, spreading out defenses and hitting the seams. He talked about timing patterns on offense and going for the jugular and playing to win instead of playing not to lose. In short he talked about Sid Gilstein's (spelling?) offense, which was the foundation of Gibbs offense and Martz's current one. On defense he talked about attacking, dictating the game to the opponent, and using motion to confuse their reads. He talked about bringing a professional attitude to the field and having discipline.

Then, the '99 chiefs seemed hell bent on running up the gut every play. We were almost all dismayed.

Flash forward a year, and we see an attacking offense stretching the field and doing the things he talked about. We see an aggressive defense, getting to the QB and using the blitz effectively. Is Gun really building the team he imagined? Are we really just a RB and a K shy of being one of the league's best?
