I've got to admit... if I could choose one guy from your team to wear the Silver and Black, this is the man.

30 unassisted tackles the past two weeks!... Great deep drops yesterday to take away the quick hit patterns the Rams thrive on....

If not for the fact that Warren Sapp is having the most dominant defensive year that I've seen in a long time, I would say that Edwards may be the leading candidate for defensive Player of the Year... Getting
some sacks may help him.....

I still feel that Derek Brooks is the best all around OLB in the biz but Edwards reminds me alot of Seth Joyner.... Edwards is a California guy, maybe he'll want to put on the Raider jersey at the end of his contract.....

Edwards has FAR too much class to EVER don the Silver and Black!!

Well Mr. Pitt... After he suffers his 3rd consecutive loss to Oakland in a couple of weeks, and is sitting at home watching the Silver and Black in the playoffs, he may have a different view of that "class" thing than you do......

The difference is that Donnie is not a quitter, and he's going to be here to build this thing back up in the right direction.

Besides, you guys still haven't proven that you can beat us in your house. And I fully expect us to meet in the playoffs... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/wink.gif

We'll be content to keep DE right in KC. Carl will be happy to lock him up longterm next year. He'll be in the Ring of fame someday. Look for him to start in the big game in February.

His contract is up when?

Arman... You expect to make the playoffs?

I thought he got a new contract last year.

Carl locking up hicks was nice too...

I think he & Gonzo are Free Agents after 2001. I could be mistaken. The way these recent draftee's have voidable years after their 4th & stuff makes it impossible to keep up. It was a surprise to everyone when DT & Shields both reached incintive clauses in their contracts last year which allowed them to void their contracts.

Man, if Edwards and Gonzo are set to become free agents the same year, then you guys better be prepared to open up that vault!... I also think Hicks will need to be renogotiated at some point with the numbers he's been putting up.

That rings a bell, Arman. Maybe DE is locked up for quite a while. It certainly would have been in our best interest to sign him to an extension last year. We'd have to pay out the nose for the production he's putting up this year. He's all over the place. He's a bigger, faster Zach Thomas.

Hicks blew it by signing an extension last year. He really should have waited because it's going to take a holdout to get that contract renegotiated. However, if he strings together 3-4 good years while finishing this new contract out he can expect a Sapp-esque payday.

Edwards signed a three year deal like a year or so ago.

I was forced to watch the Raider game with several Raider fan(s).

Raider fan said the same thing about Gonzalez - he will be wearing Silver & Black someday 'cause he was from Cali.

What is it with Raider fan ? Delusions are getting bigger, bolder as the season goes on.

KC seems to be the place for ex-Michigan stars(Grbac, Alexander), so I guess by using JQ's logic, we'll end up with Tyrone Wheatley & Charles Woodson. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/wink.gif

Mi - When do we get Griese to backup Grbac?

We already got Collins! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

hawaiinboy,

Two more weeks before the seasonal "Fade" begins to re-emerge.

It takes about 14 days for the Raiders fans to start counting the proverbial "chickens" but by week #11 or #12 (after losing 3 of 4) they come to the realization that the basket is full of rotting eggs.

Wouldn't it be a shame if the Chargers whack you guys for their first win?

ColoradoChief

Mi - That makes me sad. I would rather have Griese as a backup.

Well, if it makes you feel better, we could probably upgrade to Jim Harbaugh after the season, or draft Drew Henson and say to heck with both.

ColoradoChief

Mi - I would put my wife at QB before I would like to see Jim Harbaugh here.

How good of an arm does she have? lol

Not sure we'll draft high enough for Henson...........

Injun....

It seems to me that KC was the one who faded last year.....

Dessert Chef... read some of the Chief fans posts after the Rams game and tell me who is delusional.

Serves me right for complimenting a Chief player, huh? :P

I have to agree with hawaiianboy, in that Edwards is one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Brooks probably edges him out though, as much as I hate to admit it.

I'm not sure how long his contract is for, but I'm pretty sure he was signed to a big, long-term deal. I remember Anthony Davis wanted "Edwards-type" money to stay here. Where is he again? http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

Joe...

Thanks... I was a lttle worried about the SI jinx but we ran the ball well and played some D.

Needless to say, I'm a Hawk fan this weekend.<BR>

I thought Edwards had signed a longer term contract at the start of last season, like 5 years. Could be wrong, or maybe he has voidables.

It was actually at the end of the 98 season that he extended. That's why Davis held out in '99.
