View Full Version : Carl Peterson, King of the Draft

Anyone remember Deltha O'Neal or Rogers Beckett? These were two highly touted defensive backs taken by divisional opponents before the Chiefs drafted either Wesley or Dennis. Dennis is probably the biggest story as playing corner in the NFL as a rookie is very rare, especially for a FIFTH round pick!!! Wesly, as most of us know, should be a Pro Bowler. By the way, neither O'Neal or Rogers touch the field much other than on ST. Carl deserves MAD props for this coup.

True, true. Now if he could just figure out a way to draft a real RB instead of a Harvey Williams/Greg Hill/Jesse Haynes type fella.

My opinion on this draft is that Gun had more to do with it than any other coach (head or otherwise) has in Carl's time here. Obviously Carl makes the final decision, but Gun wanted every one of these guys and he got them! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Titus,

Yes his absence is sort of conspicuous isn't it? http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif Funny how it coincides with a pretty good Chiefs team and another verrrrrry questionable coaching move by Ron Wolf. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Cormac - I think he is still sitting in his room at the shock that we whipped up on the Rams. I think he was all ready to jump down everyone's throats and just didn't have any smack that would stick. Then we swept Holmgren, the guy he thought we should have hired.

It has also been 2 questionable coaching moves in a row for Wolf. All of their players seem to be injury prone and they are worse at holding a leda then the Chiefs. They are definitly worse at getting too far behind too early. Simly put, nothing much is going right for the Pack, and it is a blast to watch.

ROTFLMFAO !!!!!!!

Every one that has had a run-in with ButtPackFan should come up NORT here and get a good whiff of all the **** they are coming up with why the Packers DO NOT SUCK!!! These people are so far in denial that they honestly do not have a clue. They think that building/renovating a new stadium will help??? They think that injuries are the problem??? What team does not have key players out? They think Favre is still the old Favre - he just has no one to catch it now. They blame it on the schedule. They blame it on the guy who cuts the grass. They blame it on the coaches. Don't we all??

BUT... not one time do we hear Ron Wolf's name come up as the problem. This guy hired Walrus and now he is a genius. Remember this is the same guy who now has a loosing record since Walrus walked.

Did I ever tell you that I hate the Packers and it's because all the fans are like Ken!!!

I remeber telling packfan, and some other packer fan friends of mine, that soon wolf and favre would be talking about the good ole days when they could actually win 8 games in a season. They all thought I was nuts. I have bets with my friends that the Chiefs would have a better record than the pack and that Grbac would have more passing yards than favre, not to many people would have made those bets before the season started. Here is my best wolf impersonation, "What? We went 8-8? EVERYBODIES FIRED! Get me every no-name coach in here as soon as you can! Immediately!!" Wolf is an idiot, and he will be lucky to have a job next season.

As far as the draft goes, who would give up Sly and Wesley for dillon now?!

I hope we all remember this when we're complaining next year because Carl won't give up a first and a third for the first RB to hit the market.

gonzo, next year if we want a back like Dillon all we have to do is pay for him...but you are right...the way Morris and Wesley have played makes you wonder why any of us even would have considered a 1st and 3rd...

My guess is that Brown will offer Dillon a hefty contract but he'll probably walk anyway just to get to a team that might actually win more than 4 games...

Getting Dillon would be one thing, but looking at the state of the offense right now, do we want a back like that?

I only say this because there's another couple of guys that will be available next year that will be cheaper:

Charlie Garner
Tiki Barber

My vote is drafting or trading up to attain a premiere RB.
