View Full Version : If KC keeps using zone coverage, Hasty should be traded or released...

IMO. He is not fast enough to stay with #1 receivers unless he's jamming them at the L.O.S.

I'd rather see Dennis or even Bartee attempting to play bump-and-run, rather than Hasty attempting to play zone.

I think Hasty feels the same way. That's why he was screaming at Gun, while on the sidelines, to quit playing the zone. He knew we'd get killed... and we did...
DYSC (Different Year Same Clit)-

Mindlessly mouthing off again. Last year it was Szott. Now that he's out our running game suffers. Now it's Hasty, the only guy back there with the brains, experience, an interception and nads. Uh, hello Fly --do you think we would've got TORCHED if Hasty was in the game? Doubtful. As far as pretending to know what he was saying to Gun on the sidelines maybe you should learn how to read lips. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Playing the zone in the last few minutes of a ball game is self defeating. Hasty knows how to play man-to-man, and he is a leader. I would, if at all possible, had him back in the game, played man-to-man coverage, and who knows, maybe we would be 1-1 now instead of 0-2...
Desert Chief,

Maybe you should look around this BB at some other posts. This isn't KansasCity.com. We don't call each other names like a bunch of 13 year olds over here. If you disagree with me, that's fine.

KC would've REALLY been hurt by trading Szott in the offseason, wouldn't they? Nobody's arse keeps the bench warm like ole Szott's, huh?

If KC keeps using zone coverage, Schottenheimer should be beaten with a spiked club until his single brain cell leaks out.

C lint-

Names?

Somehow your topic post doesn't surprise me. For someone whose hobbies are football, food, and sex (in that order), what can I expect besides "voting a player off the island" after every loss.

Clint, you're not serious are you? I hope your "take" is a result of your disdain for the zone and not Hasty. While not a "spring chicken," his leadership and teaching are critical to our young guys. Release a pro bowl caliber corner? Never.

Don't forget $15 to park.

Desert,
Szott was out all last year, and we ran the ball just fine.
Hasty won't be here next year anyway. I'd rather play man to man, and have Bartee get smoked a few times this year and learn, than waste Hasty in a soft zone.

Well now Shakes --
Maybe you should email Curt Schottenhiemer on that note. Running the ball just fine is certainly better than what's occurred in games 1 & 2.

It's bad when it's week 2 and we have all these "fans" calling Pro Bowl players. A win would be good right about now.

Hasty is an ASSET. IF HE chooses not play I would like to see him coaching for the Chiefs.

Desert,
Do you have KURT's e-mail. I know a few of us would love to have it.
Hasty is only an asset if he's allowed to play in a defense that utilizes his strengths.
I can talk to a kid for a week about HOW to ride a bike, but he won't LEARN until he falls off a few times.
Go outside and stick your head back in the sand and pretend everything's fine.
Hasty is fine...in man-to-man coverage. I would have no problem if he played another 2 or 3 years...if Kurt used him in man-to-man coverage only.

My beef was more with Kurt than Hasty.

What's wrong with football, food, and sex?

Of course, I did forget beer!

Exactly,
I have no beef with Hasty. My problem is with Kurt. In a way it's like a couple years ago when DT (RIP) played the Falcon. He wasn't suited for the style of play.
Hasty is gone next year. I think he is more of a fast strong safety at this point in his career. If he's hurt, isn't it better to rest him now (14 games to go), play the youngsters, and hope to have them ready for the last 8 games of the year? There are more changes on the way folks, better to ride this out than lose our cookies right now. The "Salary Cap reaper" is upon us.

I think if we are going to play our type of zone D then I think we should go ahead and put the cheerleaders out there, cause then we can at least say things like, "..Yeah, sure she got burned, but did you see those legs?".

I would pay to see the cheerleaders in a zone... coverage, that is...
Mmmmmm.....cheerleaders!
That's the best idea I've read all day!

With a cheerleader in the secondary, you might actually hear the DC say, "Don't bother covering the tight end. PLEASE don't cover the tight end."

It would certainly give the term "bump-and-run" a whole new meaning!
