of the rookie receivers taken ahead of him in the first round.

Hell, he's outperforming all rookies at the moment.

Let's hope he continues his dominance.
Let's hope they continue the non-conservative offensive play calling. That will show us more of Morris's ability than anything else.

Last weekend was one the most dominant rookie performances I've ever witnessed.

He has a chance to put up huge numbers if given the opportunity.

I agree, but his chances only come if JR and Gun allow it to happen. Scary, how the coaches have kept us from being 2-1 vs. 1-2. Goes to a point I made last week: the players are trying to win in spite of their poor coaching.

IMO, he should be made the #1 WR immediately...he may be a better offensive weapon than Gonzalez RIGHT NOW!! It's time to find out.

Clint - agreed.

No time like the present to find out what this guy can do, but will the coaching staff let that happen? If they have a brain cell btw. them they won't stand in the way of his progress. Morris could ony help some of their careers.

I agree and by not making him #1 is yet further proof that we are lacking in the coaching dept.

Play the guys who make the plays. It's that simple.

His ability to outjump defenders & make the catch in a crowd is impressive, almost Moss-like. I am *really* looking forward to watching Morris develop and anticipate many productive years in the future! May he not be hamstrung by our staff & system!

For all intents and purposes I think Morris is already the #1 WR. On paper DA might be but the team and the opposition will prepare otherwise.

It is interesting to see Morris outgunning Warrick and Taylor. Also interesting is Morris' running mate at Jackson State. A smaller and quicker Morris. Could CP go two for two?

It would be nice to see someone other than a TE or FB become the Chief's #1 offensive weapon.

Gonzo's lack of production thus far concerns me, though. I hope that 1999 was the rule for him, and not the exception.

Morris is definitely one of the up and coming stars in the NFL. My hope is that in five years we are talking about the largest Chiefs contract in team history to the 3 time Super Bowl Champ, Sly Morris.

I have heard a lot of negative vibe on this board prior to the win in San Diego, but I have to tell you, I was really upset at the coaching, but I was never really too negative about the team.

I have to give Carl Peterson credit, he has put a lot of young talent on the team, and RUNther has put them on the field. I can remember over the last 10 years thinking to myself.... When are the Chiefs going to put all these young guys they draft on the field?

I think that this is our rebuilding year, but I also think that the Carl has created a great mix of veterans and youth- and a team that can and will compete this year- with or without the coaches help. Although I think that the coaches are also learning. If not then they will have to go. Let's wait until they prove us wrong though and be positive about the great changes that are happening.

We have discarded the bad apples so they would not spoil our bright new shiny ones... and maybe Gunther and JR and company are part of the problem, but I am going to let the rookie coach drop a few in the hopes that come playoff time he has learned and is ready to compete with the elite of the NFL. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif !!
The only reason Gozo's numbers have not been there this year is because he has been double and triple covered. Last year who in their right mind would double cover a TE, now the question is who in their right mind would not double cover TG?
