View Full Version : Special Teams MUST Be Tight in Denver!

Alot has been mentioned about the Donx potent offense but my biggest FEAR is the play of our special teams. The kicking game will be HUGE with respect to field position and points. In the past, we could count on our special teams play, but NOT anymore.
The Donx have had coverage problems in this phase of the game also, but they took a big step in the right direction by re-signing Keith Burns. He's a special teams monster. If Stoyo and Todd are off and our coverage is bad - it will be a LONG day! We don't need to play the Donx on a short field.

I think Sauerbrun will have a big day in Denver in the thin air. I hope Gun gets in his face sometime this week to make sure he doesn't have any mental lapses.

BTW, Sauerbrun is:
T-8th in the league with 45.0 yds per punt avg.
T-4th with 6 inside the 20
Only T-15th with net average - a little more hang-time would be nice?

It would be nice to see someone return a kick for a td for once! I also want to see Sauerbrun kick in that high altitude, he should be burying them into the endzone.

Hall will help our return game. Hope we finally win a coin toss.
Since the current Donko kicker Nedney scored the winning field goal in OT against us wearing a Faider uniform last season...(GRRRRRRR!) there might be some extra motivation to get a bit of Special Teams payback.

GO CHIEFS!!!
