Like I said on another thread... I hope the final game between these two teams at the historic Mile High Stadium is one for the ages.

Denver will win - I just hope it's a competitive nail biter for all 4 quarters.

It will be really odd, but kinda nice to see Denver win with Gus and Anderson running the show. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

One last thing - no injuries, I'd like for this to be an injury free game for both teams. It eliminates the excuses for the fans.

Bad luck to ya ... and we'll chat with you on Monday!

GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!

If the Chiefs show up with their newfound O philosohy, I would've liked the Chiefs chances, even with Griese at the helm this game. Since he's out, and Gus is at the wheel, I like those chances even better. It is still going be a typical hard fought Chiefs-Donkey game.
I'll take the Chiefs 24-20.

MHM,

Good Luck, You remind me of the Bronco fans that I have to deal with. They are very loyal to their team but they are cool about it. I like the Chiefs chances. I hope it is a good game too. I pace a lot and can't sit down if it is a nail biter though.

Denver's O is going to change with GF running the controls. More deep throws than Griese. The important thing is penetration by the DL without a blitz. That will gum up the works.

Before big games like this I run through scenarios in my head as to how the game will end. Every won my drifty little brain has conjured up involved holding a close lead late in the 4th quarter and coming up with a big defensive stand to stop the Broncos from coming back to win a la Horseyface. Then I remember who our DC and come back to sober reality.

That doesn't mean I hope we don't win though, just wish we had a DC with some gumsion(sp?)

What I hope for:

1. That Gunther/Raye have truly learned their lesson about taking advantage of what the Defense gives. We have that talent on the field to move the ball on the ground or in the air, provided the enemy does not know what is coming. Today we find out if last week was a fluke or an epiphany.

2. That I see lots of QB crushing. This is the most critical aspect of our Defense. If the Spineless Stooge rushes [3] DL again, we lose this game, and will DESERVE to lose this game. Get into the enemy backfield and hammer that QB time and time again. If he is not cold, wet and grass-stained by the end of the first quarter, we are not doing it right.

3. That I see discipline. That our DL does not over-pursue the running plays. That we keep the stupid penalties down. That we maintain our composure in hostile territory.

If I see these three things, then we can win the game.

Gaz,

Jerrious Johnson has been named the #2 QB with Griese emergency #3.

If Ferotte is injured or completely ineffective, hope Johnson has more than 15 plays memorized. <g>

Let’s face it, with their schedule, the Broncos don’t NEED this game. Why risk Griese’s career for a game that is not critical to your success?

I hope Griese doesn’t play. He is a young man with a fine career ahead of him. It would be totally stupid for him to play today and risk further injury.

Having said that, if Griese does step into the field, I want him CRUSHED like any other enemy QB. I take no prisoners, not even if they are wounded.
