It would be easier if that other team was better than us. It would be easier to accept.

Whiney little b1tch... we ARE a better team. I am sick of this crap. No one respects us... EVEN when we win. We will see whos better when we play them again. I hope he says something just as stupid before the game so we he can make a complete a$$ of himself!!!

Bishop:

The Chiefs deserve credit for a big win, but I'd hardly say that one point makes a clear cut argument that you're better-- especially since Denver outgained and severely outrushed the Chiefs. The Chiefs showed cojones by not quiting when Denver went up 19-7, but they wouldn't have gotten back into it without some large Denver mistakes.

Before that sends you off in a hissy, let me qualify that remark by saying that good teams take advantage of mistakes. Kudos to the Chiefs, but lets not get carried away.

There, there, now Duck, calm down. There isn't an ounce of spin in my statement. Just pure fact.

Donkey Drew,
The Chiefs ARE better than the Donx - they proved it yesterday and have now won 3 in a row and 2 in a row IN DENVER. Nobody is getting carried away here. The Chiefs CAUSED all the turnovers. Shoot, we even gave up an interception for a TD and STILL won on the road. See the win for what it was, under the circumstances yesterday, the Chiefs were and are the BETTER team.

You were the one touting the Donx as being vastly superior to KC all summer long. Guess what - you're WRONG!

"Pure fact" that for the umpteenth time today fails to recognize that your Mighty Mighty Offense only scored one freakin TD yesterday.

Your other one was due to a KC "mistake." But Bob Dole gathers from your posts that you don't see KC mistakes as anything but stellar Bronco playmaking...

Donkey, if you factor everything in (Coaching, starters, backups, wind velocity, the alignment of the stars, the position of Hilary Clintons Labia during the touchdown) we outscored YOUR team by the end of the game. Hence, we ARE the better team. I hate to break it to you. I am not saying we are the best in the league by any means, but we ARE better than the Bronco's. Just like the Bronco's were better in the play-off's in '97, and '98, just like we were better in '96 and '99, we ARE better than you now. I think that the Bronco's are a great team, but I promise you if Gunther and Raye keep calling these plays, and you play at your current level, when you play us at our house, you WILL lose. I am not having a hissy, I... am just stating fact. Sorry...

Okay. You guys get the 'superior' tag for now. You won, the Broncos lost.

But large mistakes aren't made by a good team
...unless a better team forces them.... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

And a better team overcomes the mistakes that they make kind of like the Chiefs did yesterday.... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Drew - You forgot to point out that KC also effectively stopped your 100 yd rusher and killed any silly dreams of NFL records, and the fact that your better team couldn't stop some punks in the waning moments in one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL.

Face it, after watching your team against the Rams and then against us, I think it is safe to say that your pass defense is one of the worst I have seen from denver in a good long time.

Wolfman:

Great post. Although I think rushing for 85 yards hardly makes Mike Anderson’s quest for the record ‘silly’, I couldn’t agree more on the sentiment that Denver has some serious problems if they can’t stop a sub-standard offense like Kansas City. I expressed that exact sentiment on the “Have your fun thread...” and was ripped for being less than gracious. It’s nice to know I have some support from the other side of the gallery. Luckily, Denver’s problem is related more to a secondary still feeling its self out, and will improve. Unfortunately for KC, it’s a personnel issue.

Back to the rushing thing for a quick second. Most teams consider themselves pretty stinkin’ successful if they rip off five yards per carry, and, inversely, most defenses consider that a pretty bad day. You must have very low expectation for that rush D of yours.

Its too bad that one classless moron like you has to make all the gracious KC fans put up with my crap. I actually felt like I was making some progress having honest discussions with the likes of Gaz, Morphious, Titus, and the crew, but then you came along and ruined it for all of us. .

Drew - It is Morphius, Morphius, Morphius, I'm not even sure what Morphious is, other then odd looking. Just noticed you really like this particular typo. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

Oops, sorry. I also always type Shannahan, even though I know its wrong. Don't always catch it, though.

Drew - I would more then happily trade you typos though, every single time I try to type meet it comes out spelled meat, and I have to try to catch it, every single time. Not much more embarrasing then telling some other guy that you would like to meat them later.

AustinChief

Drew - Testy testy. SO let me get this straight.... if you post "substandard offense" we are to accept it as fact and move on with your interpretation. However, if I state that Anderson's quest for a silly record (and it is silly) is moot and dead, then I am classless?

Your standards are odd to say the least.

Desert Chief

I guess I was just wondering what is silly about missing it by 15 yards, especially when another Denver back ripped off 41 on five carries.

On the other, I was simply agreeing that Denver's defensive performance was alarming considering the opponent. Isn't that basically what you said? <P>

AustinChief
09-26-2000, 10:39 AM
Drew - I guess it isn't the words, but rather the tone. The record is silly, period. The media focused on it too much. THe only record that matters is the W/L one.

Desert Chief
09-26-2000, 11:46 AM
I bet Mike Anderson didn't think it was silly. Woulda been pretty cool for him, and he's a class kid that deserves that sort of thing. He got very close, though.

Can someone please post the link to this story. I have a friend (a Donx fan) that insists that Mobley did NOT say that. He said that it probably came from a Chiefs paper or something. Help me prove him WRONG!
