Is this thread breaking the record for most thumbs up on posts solely made to bash the OP?

Respond to every post? I feel like I made my point pretty comprehensively in the OP. A few people have responded, others have bashed. What exactly is my role here? We're having fun, let's not ruin the magic. |

You've of course taken the route of letting the OP stand alone as a monument to try-hardedness. The opposite approach would be to, yes, respond to basically every post. Double down to the posts arguing yours, tell others "thanks for contributing!" or "and your opinion would be..."... that sort of thing. Then as you get more responses, get really sarcastic with it in a completely told-you-so way, grandstand for your original argument, breaking down quotes and arguing each sentence individually. You'll need a decent collection of memes and gifs as well. The middle of the road approach, more of a diqlix thing, would be to respectfully debate for 3 days, but with little bits of snark every few posts to bait people along. Put together some big rational post, but with a little dig at Mahomes or just a little Brady ballwashing. Then 3 days later, say you never even said Brady was better than Mahomes and that you didn't really hate the decision, you were just thinking about injuries... basically retract the entire thing in hopes of being able to hear people's heads explode over the internet. And you could just repeat your same points over and over, as something so simple would still produce hundreds of responses... if it's one thing we love around here, it's talking about the same points again and again. |

Truth of the matter is, I posted the OP, then went back to what I was doing, then returned an hour later and the dunk party was on. No harm no foul, let the kids have their fun. I don't look at a thread full of furrowed-brows and think to myself "what an awesome opportunity for a productive conversation to test philosophies and learn about football." Like I said, absolutely no harm no foul. I don't think I'm under any kind of obligation to ruin the party by trying in vain to have a productive conversation. But I'll re-read the community standards. |

Meh. It would be a pretty bad idea to try and make Mahomes a Brady clone, imo. From a personality standpoint, I don't think it's even possible. It's far more likely that Mahomes is going to end up being more like Rodgers than Brady from a philosophical standpoint.
And let's be honest: Hill was wide open on that play, and he could've avoided that hit entirely just be sitting/falling down immediately after catching the ball. Hill chose to stay on his feet and try and get some YAC, and it got him hit. If we wanted to complain about anything, it might be that Pat could've thrown that ball about a half second earlier when Hill first broke open, and at the very least Hill would've had that much more time to decide if he was going to try and RAC or just go to the ground. |

Rodgers, Herbert and Allen all could have made that throw. Quote:
There was a 3rd and 2, IIRC, Kelce ran a quick out or curl and just got creamed by the inside and outside zone defenders. It was a sandwich, the worst kind. To his credit, he bounced right back up, but I'd rather he not take those types of bone-crunching shots. |

I'd rather be the subject of a deberg thread than read another Direction abomination of a thread.
This just shows yet again you have absolutely zero understanding about football. |
Tyreek was smiles after that catch even if he took a big hit, ask him if it was worth it.
These are football players they play a game of football. Even if Mahomes dumped the ball off to the RB the Raiders are cheap shot artist and put the RB at risk of injury. |

God i ****ing hate that title. Idiots hide behind that in their thread titles as if such a preface should be a deterrent for attacking lame, dumb threads. It doesn't. You can all it "Late Night Bullshit" all you want, the end result is the same. |
It was 3rd and 17 and MissDireckshun wants Patrick to check it down like Alex Smith.. I’m glad those days are over… We might as well punted on 3rd down back then..
|
Imagine having Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, and pining away for Alex Smith throws.

Not one mention of a whore of a mother? This place is slipping.

I have this gorgeous, 10’ by 14’ garden in which I grow all the ****s I give. I mean, you’d love it. Have your people call my people. The LNBS posts are typically posted when I’m up around midnight and there’s no real discussion, a loose attempt to germinate some discussion out of nothing. That does mean I have usually not put the thought into them that other threads of mine do. If that is incredibly problematic to you, you are free to put me and my threads on ignore. The only other alternative I have for you is taking a personal tour of my garden. |

My post was a rant directed more at the forum in general, not just you. Just want to put that out there to everyone. "LNBS" isn't a cover for your stupid threads. |

So direct all your rage to me, please. I have a garden to fertilize. |
I do believe Direckshun was the one who initially started the LNBS thread trend.

I guess the main thing I would want clarified here, is was Direckshun aware that this was a 3rd and 16 play, or was this simply a highlight play that was just cherry picked to break down without regard to or knowledge of the down and distance.
One answer can prove this to be a simple gaffe, an ill informed take due to not being aware of the down and distance and looking a bit silly and nothing more. The other answer, that being yes,, he was aware this was a 3rd n 16 would prove this to be something else entirely. Trolling, stupidity, losing your fingertip grip on reality and descending into an abyss of irreversible lunacy, take your pick. If he was aware that it's 3rd n 16, and still wants the Alex Smith trademark dumpoff over the highlight reel play and first down...well, fire away and it's all deserved. My initial response (not a positive one) was based on knowledge that this was 3rd and 16 being possessed at the time of the breakdown. Even if it's first down, I still want the shot to Hill over a dumpoff. However, at least there's some sort of sanity that can be found in just saying take the free easy yards if you do still have a down or two to go. I disagree with it because I want the killer that we've seen the past 3 years. I don't want to see him devolve into a boring checkdown artist. |

When everybody is around and we're swinging for long bombs away, how do we come around to know that man, this... this really is what it's for?

I want wins. Get them by any means necessary. Titles won are best. Doesn't matter how.
|
I had no issue with the throw. I don't feel like it put anyone in real danger. The throw not much later to Clyde in traffic for a known loss was much more likely to result in an injury than the throw to Hill.
