Who exactly do you want to replace that resume with....?
Some dumb ****ing people on this board.

This. My God. Going from Roy to Self (who is better by the way) has spoiled us. For ****s ****ing sake, 2 years ago, the almighty Calipari lost in the first round of the NIT (in Rupp) to Robert ****ing Morrison. I will take Self and this over that. Not to mention the extreme risk of vacating wins.
Yeah, Calipari is unstoppable this year, but it hasn't worked every year.
Roy has missed the NCAA a few time. Kazoo has been out of the NCAAs early a bunch too.

I spent the past few nights watching great teams from 2003, 2005, etc etc and I feel no connection to this year's squad as I did them. Cliff was a disaster but maybe Black Panda needs to go if we're just going to get the same bullshit every year?
Why don't we have Baker or this Weasel guy? Why do we only look to Baltimore, TX, Chicago and Oak Hill?? Maybe start doing some real recruiting work and stop relying on Rivals to make all your choices for you.
That's all I'm saying. Bill's gettin a little fat..... you could see it on TV today.

Oh,

with that bullshit. Do you know what D1 schools recruited Ron Baker? Not ****ing one of them. He walked on at WSU and redshirted. His freshman year was the year Morningstars dad paid his tuition because we were out of scholarships. There was no place at KU for him when he came out. And even if there was, he wasn't getting in. He was still a very good 3A player from Western ****ing Kansas. Even then, he wasn't half the player in school as he is now. He was really good, but he didn't have the size to play the physicality, and he wasn't (or at least didn't play) nearly as quick. His ascent is a function of training. Not recuritable measurables.
Self said he dropped the ball on recruiting Baker, but he said the same shit about Buddy Hield less than a month ago. Fact is, William Goddamned Self is not going to Scott Community High School basketball games to unearth the next Ron Baker. I know because I was there. And his brother was a senior this year.
There isn't a bigger Ron Baker fan that doesn't reside in a Baker household than me. But to try and say Self ****ed up because Ron Baker is not a jayhawk is completely uneducated and I'm ****ing tired of it (I have to listen to it from the townfolk every ****ing day, so it is a bit of a sore spot).

As far as next year goes, it's going to be nice to have Frank, Devonte, and Svi back and getting better. They'll certainly need to. Unless soft Perry Ellis and the baffling Wayne Selden have less responsibility in 2015-2016, we'll probably be right back in this same spot next year.
And it goes without saying that I really hope Self is working on recruiting a big or two. With Cliff gone, we've never been so thin there. Thon Maker?

Good post here. I expected it. Every time the game digresses to a rugby game, KU loses. I think it is a function of not practicing that way.
And I agree that it is miraculous that he did what he did with these guys. In December, I'd have called you a fool if you thought this team would do all this.

This. And it really isn't good for anybody. KU didn't need to play WSU (or IU for that matter) and WSU shouldn't have had as tough of a draw as KU to get to the S16.
