That's a valid argument only if you believe that 1) injuries should not be considered as a part of this discussion, and 2) a team can't change or improve over the course of a year.

This team is not like any other Chiefs team in my memory. They've overcome an onslaught of injuries to starters that spread over more than half the season and they still managed to win at least 11 games. 11 wins against one of the most difficult schedules in the league. Maybe 12. They're peaking now, at the end of the season. Not a hot start and later a return to reality. They have trended upwards, steadily. And they can beat a team in any phase of the game, offense, defense or special teams. We know this because they've done this.

It's not cockiness to admit that. At all. That's just acknowledging what this team is and how good they really are. They've overcome adversity, they've struggled through difficulties, and despite everything, whether it's been the installation of a new defensive system and new personnel, whether it's fighting through a slew of injuries including weeks without last year's MVP, they are still an 11 or 12 win team. Just set the injuries aside, and we're probably talking about a 15-1 or 14-2 season.

This is not a fluke. The other shoe does not have to drop. This is as complete a team as Kansas City has seen in decades. Does that mean they sleep walk through January? Hell, no. Everybody is good now, anyone can win any game. But this team...this team is solid in a way that I think anyone in or outside of KC can see and acknowledge.

For once, we're the team the opponent doesn't want to see coming for them, and it's no sin to admit that.

Still doesn't guarantee they win anything...
