I’m as big of a cynic as it comes when it comes to the Chiefs. I often pointed out during the Alex era that if it came down to us depending on Alex for a game winning drive, we’d likely be out of luck.

Last year, I consistently beat the drum that our run defense was enough of a problem for us to get bounced.

This year, for the first time of my life as a Chiefs fan, I can confidently say this team is good enough to go all the way.

Now, could we lose on the road to Lamar Jackson and the Ravens revamped D? Sure, they’re great. Could we lose in the Super Bowl to a balanced team like the 49ers, Packers Saints? We sure could.

But for the first time in my life, there isn’t a team standing in the way that I think is better than the Chiefs. The Steelers felt better in 2016, the Patriots felt more complete last year. But this year? I’d take us against anyone. The Chiefs still may lose, because, well, that’s football - but I challenge anyone to find a Chiefs roster from the past 50 years that could handle this team as it stands now.

For a big chunk of this season we were puttering about losing to the AFC South. A few game winning streak doesn't change the fact that this team, while able to be anyone, can also lose to anyone.

Team's can find form though. The Chiefs team from those games is not nearly as good as the team is now. The d is playing better and more together, Mahomes is healthy, and the offense as a whole is healthy.

Only issue I have with the chiefs postseason aspirations, is that we arent the 1 or 2 seed, we have to win 4 games to become superbowl champs. Things can simply bounce the wrong way sometimes.
