It's called Latency, and it occurs over all internet broadcasts because broadcasters send 480, 720, 1080i, 1080p and in some cases, 4K broadcasts, simultaneously, which is why the latency occurs.

I understand latency. I was assuming they were already compensating for the delay. They know it’s there. Why cut to the player before they even know yet?
