Yeah this was always my reasoning that in today’s nfl, you’ve gotta have a couple 3 down linebackers that can be adequate at it. You don’t necessarily need kuechly and DJ but you’ve gotta have guys that aren’t liabilities.
Offenses are too good these days at finding and exploiting weaknesses. You need a defense that doesn’t have glaring holes. That leads to others having to try and cover for that.
