Some guys I still think make sense:
NT Eddie Goldman (CHI)
He had some down seasons in 2019 and 2021 and opted out in 2020 under Nagy's regime but he was a stud in 2017 and 2018. He may be a nice reclamation at this stage that should come cheap. The question is more about his mental makeup and the fit there than anything else, IMO.
DT Larry Ogunjobi (CIN)
Was the number one guy on my list and remains so but he had foot surgery at the end of last year and didn't pass a physical for Chicago or he'd be a Bear. He just got done visiting the Jets for two days. I'd kick the tires and see if the issue is still present for him, and sign him immediately if not. He can play either position at DT and can affect the QB.
DT Sheldon Richardson (MIN)
Richardson was a beast most of his career but took on more of a rotational role last year with the Vikings in his second stint. On a 1-year deal as a piece behind Chris Jones, I think he'd be a nice fit. That said, Stallworth is a sleeper pickup that put alot of hits on the QB last year in limited action so I'm not sure there's much room for a guy that can't slide to NT.
NT Danny Shelton (NYG)
Shelton is a mammoth that's hard to move but he offers zero upside getting to the QB. He'd be a quality rotational nose but I'd like just a little bit more. If he's a Mike Pennel type of cheap addition there, no problem. And speaking of Pennel...
NT Mike Pennel (ATL)
Pennel is a FA again and just turned 31. He'd still be nice in rotation with Nnadi at NT. We know what he brings to the table, which is just a tough object to move in the run game. I wouldn't mind him back.
DT Akiem Hicks (CHI)
Hicks has shown he can still be a quality player but he's had issues staying healthy in 2 of the past 3 seasons, so there's quite a bit of concern there. He can certainly get to the QB and has the size to be a moving piece at either position. I like him on a one-year deal but it'd have to be fairly cheap to hedge the injury concern.
DE Trey Flowers (DET)
After back-to-back injury-riddled seasons in Detroit where he only played in 7 games each, you have to wonder if he's even worth the time at this point. That said, if he can stay healthy he is a quality strong-side end that can get you 7 sacks and 20 QB hits while shutting down the run. If he's willing to come in on a 1-year minimal prove-it deal then I'm on board. A rotation with Karlaftis could be quite productive.
DE Ifeadi Odenigbo (CLE)
I'm not sure what happened in Cleveland last year but Ifeadi didn't have a good season and only played in 9 games with no starts and bounced around between the PS and 53. He had a quality year in 2019 as a rotational end for Minnesota with 7 sacks and 13 QB hits, then started 15 games for them in 2020 with 3.5 sacks and 15 QB hits. He could be an okay rotational guy. I think he's worth more of a chance than bringing a guy back like Okafor, who just doesn't do anything to affect the game.
DE Dawuane Smoot (JAX) - Trade
This is a guy that might be had for a late day 3 pick given Jacksonville drafted Walker and already have Allen, plus Smoot is in the final year of his contract. Smoot isn't a superstar but he's had 6 sacks in each of the past 3 years and 16 and 17 QB hits in the past two seasons. He seems to be a late bloomer that's finally a productive player. He'd be nice in rotation with Clark and Karlaftis.
DE Jadeveon Clowney (CLE)
Clowney probably makes the most sense at DE but he's a yoyo in terms of affecting the QB. That said, he's solid in all facets. If you can get the 9 sack/21 QB hit production he is capable of, you have a solid win.
CB James Bradberry (NYG)
Bradberry can still play at a very high level. I don't know if the Chiefs will have a shot but if they do he'd be a nice get and would be an impact #1 CB right away.
CB Nik Needham or CB Noah Igbinoghene (MIA) - Trade
Perhaps the Dolphins would move their starting NB in Needham, who also projects well outside at 6'1" 196 given they still have 2020 1st rounder Noah Igbinoghene on the bench, or maybe they'd move Igbinaghene for super cheap?
WR Chester Rodgers (TEN)
I don't think the Chiefs would be looking for potential impact starters at this point, so I think a guy like Odell is off the table. That said, they should be looking for better special teams and guys that can still contribute. Rodgers is a good punt and kick returner and a solid rotational WR as a 4th-6th type of guy.
