They could have been sensitive to the specific situation while still at least loosely following published guidelines (and if they're following private guidelines, I'd love to know WTF those are at this point).... it doesn't have to be a cold "continue tonight or else forfeit", but something between that and "it's fine, we'll figure it out in several days and just reformat the entire playoffs".

The climate around this kind of stuff in 2023 is miles from where it was 50 years ago. It is obvious that NFL cares about how it comes off here. They are bending over backwards and changing rules to accommodate one team over any other specifically because of what so publicly happened to Hamlin and how it was covered in the media.
