Last night, we were coming home from church and the kids wanted McDonalds. We have told the kids that they can McDonalds no more than once a month. Well, we hadn't been since October, and my youngest daugher put it together. So, I felt compelled to take them. They each had a burger, chocolate milk and apple dippers.
But, it was my cheat day.... and I wanted a Big Mac, Large Fries, Apple Pie and a Super Sized Coke to wash it all down. Only, I didn't do it. Instead, I drove to Panda Express, ordered off their wok smart menu, and got the firecracker chicken, mushroom chicken and mixed vegies(instead of fried rice), and washed it down with unsweetened white pear tea.
Anyways, as I was sitting there enjoying my mixed veggies.... I was just very proud of myself for not giving in to eating so poorly just because it was my 'cheat day'.
I am not swearing off Big Macs, or any other burger forever. But, I am glad that I have gotten to the point that my health is more important that my cravings.

Bravo. That's inspiring right there. I have a cheat day, but I'm working hard to eliminate it and just eat what I want. The trick is only wanting it about as often as a cheat day would roll around.
I don't want to mark days off of a calendar until I can eat a greasy burger. I just want to get it on the rare occasion that I actually want it. Totally a work in progress.
