The Spanish flu showed up in the spring, mostly disappeared in the summer, and then came back in the fall much worse than before.
Hopefully covid 19 doesn't do the same.
But if it does, shutdowns and distancing would be the prudent thing to do.
Some places might be willing to adjust to new circumstances. But it's pretty clear many will not. Hopefully we don't get serious hotspots, like NYC, in the fall. But I can't say it would surprise me to see it happen.
