I used to take calls for Verizon wireless in customer service. Not tech support.

I worked as a field tech for a couple of years and now am a network tech, and I see lots of stupid shit day in and out.

That reminds me... I've got someone from India calling me tonight to try and figure out why my Xbox won't go online through wireless...

I don't know of those wireless adapters support WEP. At least not when you are setting em up. Might wanna check that.

I understand your frustration, but the REAL problem is not "where", its "how much are you paying these guys?"

I don't care if its a pakistani guy who can't speak english, or a kentucky guy who can't speak english, i'd like good service.

Point in case - Back when I had Cingular, I had to call their CS line a few times, and always got the rudest African-American women on the face of the earth, that had to AXE me stupid questions over and over again.

I've called India and had some trouble understanding what the guy was saying, but overall he provided better service than the American.

It works both ways, is all im saying. American or not, (preferably american), pay them more, and put higher requirements on the job if you want to provide quality customer service.

What really sucks is when you're forced to wait on hold for 90 minutes to get tech help from some semi-literate third world poopstain. Comcast is terrible for tech support, they bounce you all over the globe. Nobody local knows WTF is going on. God help you if you have a network service outage!
