After seeing what it did for Larry, maybe we should be making a play for Rivers...

I'm not satisfied VD's ignorance is responsible for LJ's success.

I'd take a chance on Rivers except why would he come here when he won't be the starter for another two years or so?

That's not entirely accurate. (Tivo is a wonderful thing.)

Q: Were Priest to decide to come back next year off of this injury, what would you envision your role with the Chiefs being?

A: "It would be tough. It would be still a role where I'm seeing enough playing time and getting the ball and helping out this team get to a Super Bowl next year if it's not this year. But it's all the coach's decision, whatever coach Vermeil wants to do as far as who's going to be starting, who is going to have to adjust roles so it's all going to be, you know, a different scenario next year."

Q: If YOU were put in a position, Larry, where you had to make that call, what would the call be?"

A: "I would basically have to talk to Priest about that, and find how Priest felt mentally and physically, if he felt the need that it was okay for me to start, then obviously given the permission from him then I would go ahead and start but at the same time still keep a certain type of rotation where he's able to see the field too and he's been a great third down back and he's been a great back all around so no matter when I would come out and when he went in we would still be able to be productive."

I'd think Priest would be alot more valuable as a backup and on screens, he was always a shredder on those. Love priest but LJ has earned it, and thats cool LJ would talk to him about it.

My thoughts exactly. Priest can still be a very valuable backup and hes deadly on those screen (Miami Game) Passes.

I only wish they did that from the beginning of this season.

then maybe we'd still have them both.

although, the offense didn't really get going until Priest went down.

maybe having them both is more of a hinderance than a blessing. addition by subtraction?

No way in Hell San Diego trades Rivers to another AFC West team. He will probably end up in the NFC.

I think that they are sticking with Trent for at least another season anyway. So I doubt Rivers would want to come to ride pine here.

Plus, in a back up roll, he may be able to finish a season. He's getting rather beat up.
