When you scout players, the 20 yard shuttle is acceleration and cone drill is agility. Strength is obviously bench reps and tends to correlate well with tackling. At most positions, acceleration is much more important then speed. It's easy to get speedy players with poor accleration, agility and tackling but getting speedy players with good acceleration and tackling is where it's at. When you're scouting, simply find who has the best acceleration or strength and then relate that to everything else. For example if I were drafting a defensive end I would first look at strength since I want them to tackle first and foremost. So find who has the best 225 reps. Next, look at 20 yard shuttle and see who has the best combination of 20 yard shuttle and 225 reps...from there look at speed and the scouting report. With that system you can get a lot of good talent often in mid to late rounds. I will not draft a defensive end if his shuttle is much over 4 seconds and his bench reps must be over 28 otherwise he'll play too slow and won't tackle or take on blocks very well. ![]()

I can easily get his acceleration up to 80 in two offseasons, maybe less depending on progression.
He's going to be a beast. I think agility is more important for DEs, at least in the Madden world anyway. When a DE is engaged with a blocker, their agility rating more often than not is used when determining how quickly they can swim/rip past the blocker. I never scout, either. The Madden editor shows me all the ratings. ![]()

I mostly use it to scout the draft ratings and change players positions. In a previous franchise I picked up a free agent HB that just happened to be 6'4 and converted him to TE. I also use the global head coach slider adjustment thing they just added to it...produces more realistic results. It also has an injury slider so I get much more realistic injuries now. Here are a few screenshots: ![]() ![]()

http://cgi.ebay.com/NCAA-Football-20...QQcmdZViewItem I have never done this before. But a buddy of mine did this. Im guessing rent NCAA 2006 or if you already have it. Im not sure how to get the names on the players with this memory card but Im sure it cant be hard. Load the roster off the memory card onto NCAA or something. Then do whatever you do to get the players graduated (play a college season or two or do what I do and simulate a couple of seasons.) Then when you export the graduating players the names will be on there and ready to be drafted with their names instead of numbers. |
