Herms response to LJ reported by 101 The Fox

101 The Fox is reporting that Herms response to LJs (checker-chess) comment was that LJ was the problem due to his holdout and getting a late start.

They stated that Brian W agrees with Herm on this as well?

No link due to hearing it reported twice on 101.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Is this the beginning of the end?

Or is it a ploy to get LJ pissed off and running?

TonyG has clearly lost his burst. I fully expect him to be in the pressbox eating nachos in no less than 3 weeks.

When you don't believe the coaches know what they are doing but have no choice but to follow their lead, there is no incentive to do more than the minimum required. Given the attitude Larry has shown since day one, this should not surprise anyone.

By the same token, remember what his dad has said about him. If he believes in his coach, he will run through a wall for them. Larry is not buying the Herm BS any more, IMO. If the play calling doesn't shape up, this team will fall apart in the locker room sooner rather then later.

I do remember that statement from LJ's father. We're running out of options though, Mr. Hydrae. Larry's on record as saying he doesn't like white coaches. Now he doesn't like our black coach.

Maybe we need a big, purple dinosaur coach. Couldn't be any worse, I guess. BarneyBall.

I think it’s a case that he decided the play wasn’t going to work and just stepped through the motions rather than attacking. But that’s just my opinion from what I’m seeing.
Yeah, that stuff just drives me crazy. I know football traditionalists believe in that moment you can seal the game by pounding the ball and wearing down the defense. But when you're playing a defense that has whooped your ass all day and has shown they can get in the backfield with ease, why do you expect it to work now? I think that formation would have been right if we were playing a lesser defensive team, but not one that was owning our running attack like they were. It was like we just conceded we weren't going to get the first down. All we wanted them to do was force them to burn their timeouts.

It really is one of the great sports ironies that he is famous for saying that and his whole style is the exact opposite.

But, But, But he is now playing for a black coach he can identify with!

Herm knows the tough times LJ had to endure in Happy Valley!

I was surprised to see Herm Edwards insult both LaDanian Tomlinson and Larry Johnson during a Q&A daily press conference. I don't have time to find the Q&A at the top of the thread, but I mention the comment in the in my post last night.

And all Herm has to say to the media, "When you break a 20 or 30-yard run your average obviously looks a lot better. There are a lot of things that make it look like that, but I do know that when you have two good runners, our runner and their runner, it doesn’t last forever.”
In all fairness to Edwards, it would be better to read the text in its entirety. It makes excellent travel material.

(j/k about the travel material.) okkkk, it's back to work for me. ...
