The Official Walter Football Mock Draft Thread
As I make no secret, I love reading Walter Football. Not because the guy is particularly educated on the Chiefs, but because the guy's proud of his opinions and he has impressive knowledge of the incoming draft class.
Now, I'll have you know, every single mock he posted for us last year was wrong. But that doesn't mean they aren't interesting. I'll update this thread leading up to the Draft every time he updates his 2008 mock. I don't care about his 2009 mock. Plus, I'll only be focusing on the picks he gives the Chiefs. http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2008.php |

He gave the Chiefs 2 players I really don't like in Merling and Nicks, I read through the whole thing in the next round he gives the Chiefs Martellus Bennett who is one of my favorites.

2009 2 rounds
http://walterfootball.com/draft2009.php 5. Kansas City Chiefs: Tim Tebow, QB, Florida The Chiefs added a ton of young talent to their team in the 2008 Draft. One position they failed to address, however, was the quarterback position. If they have the fourth pick in the draft, Brodie Croyle must not have shown them much. People love to hate on Tim Tebow. I don't know if it's because Florida fans salivate over his athleticism, or the average male salivates over the girl in the photo next to him on the front page of this Web site. Look, I have no idea how great or terrible Tebow's going to be at the next level. But the fact remains that he's the top quarterback prospect in this draft class. Think about it this way - Tebow has more mobility, greater size and a bigger arm than Alex Smith, who was chosen first overall in 2005. Smith, like Tebow, came out of Urban Meyer's spread offense. If Smith can be chosen first, I think it's foolish to believe Tebow can't go in the top five, assuming he doesn't get hurt next year. Make sure you check out the Great Tim Tebow Debate. You can even vote on where you think he'll be drafted. 36. Kansas City Chiefs: Victor Harris, CB, Virginia Tech Patrick Surtain will be 33 prior to the commencement of the 2009 campaign, so it's likely that he'll be cut after this season. If that happens, the Chiefs will be fishing for a cornerback. Why not Brandon Flowers' former teammate, another guy perfect for Herm Edwards' defense? |
