Help for KC at Wide Receiver - Page 10

Just found this information and thought I would share with you.

There's been a lot written about the KC Chiefs needing to draft or sign a free agent wide receiver to compliment Dwayne Bowe. The following might shed some light on the free agent wide receivers.

I took the information from that Web site and then created a list for free agent wide receivers for this year.

Free Agent Wide Receivers Available for 2008
Justin Gage, TEN Titans, made 65% of catches on balls thrown to him. Ranked 28th with this footballoutsider.com evaluation.
Dante Stallworth, NE Patriots, made 62% of catches on balls thrown to him.
Ranked 31st.
Jabar Gaffney, NE Patriots, made 72% of catches on balls thrown to him. Ranked 41st.
Bernard Berrian, CHI Bears, made 55% of catches on balls thrown to him.
Ranked 53rd.
Andre Davis, HOU Texans, made 52% of catches on balls thrown to him. Ranked 63rd.
Bryant Johnson, ARZ Cardinals, made 52% of catches on balls thrown to him.
Ranked 71st.
D.J. Hackett, SEA Seahawks, made 68% of catches on balls thrown to him. Not ranked because only had 47 passes thrown to him.
Devery Henderson, NO Saints, made 48% of catches on balls thrown to him.
Not ranked because only had 42 passes thrown to him.
Samie Parker, KC Chiefs, made 62% of catches on balls thrown to him. Not ranked because only had 39 passes thrown to him.

He's not that thick-skulled that he can't see the huge hole we have at Wide Receiver. We currently have two that I can name. Parker's an Unrestricted Free Agent. We couldn't line up and play a game with what we have today.

I expect Webb to figure into the Wide Receiver equation...and he should.
He's got one more year to make something of himself in my mind.

But he's hardly ready to be a #3 let alone a starter.
He's going to have to scrap his way into a bigger role...

We still need a legitimate starter. And it's not Parker (though I would bring him back to be our #3).

The cupboard wasn't as bare there. And they did bring McIntosh in who was one of the best Offensive Line options available when he was signed.

Like I said, I wouldn't worry about it...
I'd almost wager on the Chiefs bringing in 1-2 Wide Receivers.

Nobody IGNORED the offensive line.

I will admit the chiefs did address the offensive line incorrectly. I agree with you on that. Failing to draft a tackle before or after Roaf retired was proof of that.

I am convinced though, there are some good offensive line prospects in the later rounds. I think there are some good offensive tackles in the 2nd round. And a guard or a center you can usually get one in the 3rd or 4th rounds.

BB can take a flyin' leap. An average of $5million per year is more than fair for Berrian. I wouldn't even call his agent. Prima-donna.

We already have a possession receiver, we need a PLAYER WHO CAN STRETCH THE FIELD to compliment Bowe.

berrian is the new kennison with more dropsies

Berrian may just want out of Chicago...

Though I'm sure his asking price isn't far off so scratch his name off of the list.
