I wonder if the Chiefs would have won SB I, if Gale Sayers was on the team.

Sayers was drafted by the Chiefs of the AFL and the Bears of the NFL. It makes me wonder if the Chiefs might have won Superbowl I, if he had joined the Chiefs instead.

He went to Kansas and would have been the ultimate hero if he had joined our team. What a douche! He cost us SB I. Damn the matriculation.

You missed the links at the bottom. I would fix it myself, but I don't know how.

[Edit] Also several mentions of "Louisiana."

I've been giving this question some thought, and I can't say that the Chiefs would have won that game with Sayers.

However, the Chiefs played the Pack close in the first half, but couldn't get the ground game untracked.

Curtis McClinton was a solid, but fairly pedestrian RB.

The Pack in the second half blitzed Lenny Dawson unmercifully, and the Chiefs couldn't get anything going on offense.

Sayers might not have changed the ultimate outcome, but if he had been a part of that game, he more than likely would have affected the how the Packer defense attacked the Chiefs, and the score might have been closer.

Yeah, thanks for the insight guys. It was weird because for some reason, I never knew that Gale Sayers was drafted by the Chiefs. It could have been an interesting marriage if he had joined the Chiefs. But alas... makes for good daydreams though. Sayers was unreal, and would LOVED to have seen footage of him in red and gold.

I must admit to not knowing that myself.

I don't buy it.
The Chiefs had a story about it in one of their yearbooks. I think it was the 2006 one. It was how the 65 Chiefs saved the team in the Kansas City and it had some intresting things about the city at that time.
