Alright, I'm geeked though disappointed that this will be the first home opener I've had to watch over the internet.

I actually think Tomko has really good stuff. He was throwing 96 with an nasty 84 mph slider. He would probably be a solid reliever.

other than the HR he looked pretty good today. had a couple of big strikeouts.

Maybe. I'm not gonna complain too much since he's a 5th starter. But even that, he just sucks.

Eh, I don't think Tomko is going to have a great season... but this pitching staff has come so far. He's at best our 5th starter, and he actually throws in the mid-90's with good stuff. That's a long, long way from the days of Elarton, Lima, Albie Lopez, Chris George... guys out there throwing total junk just trying to get us by. I think he'd make a great 6th-7th inning reliever.
