So a friend of mine who I have known since 97 has been telling me about this travel business he has been doing. Well, on May 13th the Chiefs announced a unique business partnership where the Chiefs will be getting 60% of the travel commissions from fans booking travel.

The Chiefs travel website, www.ChiefsTravel.com, will provide the Chiefs loyal fans with the opportunity to book all their business and personal travel while offering multiple entry opportunities to win Game Day Packages, a 'Suite Experience,' autographed memorabilia, the opportunity to become a 'Chief for a Day,' a cabin on a Chiefs celebrity cruise and more.
Well, this Monday I joined as a rep... and have 5 people in this week.

As some of you may know, I have taught web development, Adobe products, search engine optimization, and internet marketing with Braincase.

I built my first website in 1996 in the university of Kansas computer lab 48 hours after my first time ever logging in.

Anyway, this YTB travel deal seems like an amazing opportunity. I find it cool that the Chiefs have partnered with them.

Since Monday when I finally joined, I have signed up 5 people, which is a commission of $100 each. and if you sign up 6 in one week, you trigger a $1000 bonus. I just started this, and it appears to be great.

Who else here has heard about YTB?

Here is there stock information:
http://www.ytbi.com/investor/stockinfo.asp

They recently moved up from PK sheets to OTC.bb and the stock is 2.18.
1st QTR 2007: they did $26mil
1st QTR 2008: 46 Million

Here is the presentation I used to get the 5 to join.

you act like this is the first time one of these things have started. can you make money...sure. can others....sure. will the majority.....no. trust me, most of these networking things get rep stores and give you discounts. This is what keeps it legal and not a pyramid. I have been involved before. whatch out signing up friends and family, when its done you will most likly loose a few friends and have your reputation hurt. You have to realize, most have been involved in something of this sort before.

gas cards
phone cards
amway
too many to list. ALL set up the same way. even when a person works it, it is still hard to keep both sides balanced enough to reep all the money. If someone signs someone up on there inside leg then doesnt work it that person is screwed and has to build both sides with no help.Posted via Mobile Device

heh. okay folks. This is all I will say about it.

The Chiefs partnership was the credibility that I needed to insure it was a real business... then after further research was sold.

After earning $2k so far, Im on fire.

Lots of scams out there, though... plus 2 weeks ago, I had the same attitude that you guys have. So, I understand and don't hold it against you folks.

How much of that was true revenues from the business, and how much was from getting other people to sign up? If it's pretty much the latter, your pool will probably dry up pretty quickly, so congrats on effectively taking the money of the poor saps you convinced to join. If it's actually the former, then congrats.

Ok this thing has been amazing so far...

Last night, my business partner and I drove through St. Louis to Carbondale ILL for a Red Carpet Day

I drove by Busch Stadium today... was in Wood River, Ill for a YTB Red Carpet Day. Bobby Bell and Lou Brock were there... they are both part of the company. They are the ones responsible for the KC Chiefs / YTB Travel scenario.

Anyway, after seeing it first hand, all I can say is that YTB is a legitimate home based business opportunity.

Barry Diller bought Expedia for 5.1 billion in 2003. This company doesn't spend the advertising dollars that those other companies do... they do it WORD OF MOUTH, utilizing Network Marketing or "Referral Marketing" as they are calling it.

The stats are amazing, absolutely off the charts... Expedia spends 3.7 million a WEEK in advertising. This company does the SAME THING. Brilliant.

I was able to recently purchase www.vacationtravelbusiness.com, which I think is a HUGE score. 3 great keywords.

I know some of you think all network marketing companies are scams. But the legitimate ones need to be in the DSA, Direct Selling Association, and some of the criterion is tough... plus, once you meet the leaders of the company, and they things they have accomplished so far.

I have drank the KoolAid.

My business partners and I were able to have a brief introduction meeting with the Chairman, Lloyd "Coach" Tomer. Google him, he is an interesting cat.

We were able to introduce them to our company, Adiqus.com and a potential partnership for their company. With our working with colleges and universities, it is a natural fit that maybe Colleges & Alumni could have their own travel sites?

I think that if anyone could use an extra $500-$1500 a month, than this a great vehicle for you to that... if you want to be assertive, than there could be a lot more.

Then another post?

The Chiefs for a reference is not good considering the seat filling, money making they do with their recent product and return for season ticket holders and fans. IMHO.

I would also like to see some factual backup of this statement -

"42 cents out of every $1.00 online is spent booking travel."

Thanks for educating me.

Not a rick roll. heh. But from 2005, the 2007 isnt free yet...

http://www.forrester.com/Research/Do...,40799,00.html

- Travel remains the largest online retail category, growing from $63 billion in 2005 to $119 billion in 2010.

also,

http://www.hotelmarketing.com/index....tail_category/

The second decade of eCommerce will be marked by innovations that will make online shopping easier and more engaging. This will boost US online retail sales from $172 billion in 2005 to $329 billion in 2010, according to a new forecast by Forrester Research.

I don't have the 2007 numbers handy though, but 2005 63 million | Total Online Retail 172 million

63,000,000,000 / 172,000,000,000 = 0.36416184971098265895953757225434

so in 2005 it was 36.416% or every 36.5 cents of every dollar in 2005

That is true. Nicely played. I do know that the NFL has some pretty good attorney's though.

Plus, Barry Diller spent 5.1 billion on Expedia... think he did some research? I got my travel site for $500, and have made $3750 so far. If you want to get into ANY business, there are fees. Takes money to make money. It costs over $400,000 to get a McDonald's franchise.

I feel blessed, that is all I can say. People will get their jabs in, and that's cool. I'm just sharing what I am learning.

Here's a business idea for ya, since this is what I had hoped this site would have.

Packages for flights into KC, special rates with the Drury Inn or Sheraton, and reduced price Chiefs tickets.

If you can get the everyone to roll with a deal like that, you could count me in... as a purchaser.
