Breaking News: Huard starts this Sunday!

Shocker! Herm desperately trying to save his job??

http://www.kansascity.com/news/break...ry/811817.html

For the third week in a row, winless Kansas City is making a change in its starting quarterback.

Coach Herm Edwards said Wednesday that Damon Huard, the 12-year veteran backup, will get the nod against the unbeaten Denver Broncos. Tyler Thigpen, the former seventh-round pick from tiny Coastal Carolina who got his first NFL start last week, is headed back to the bench but may see action again before regular starter Brodie Croyle returns from a shoulder injury. That's expected to be Oct. 19 against Tennessee.

Huard started against Oakland in Kansas City's second game before being pulled early for Thigpen. Thigpen made his first NFL start last week at Atlanta and was intercepted three times in a 38-14 loss that stretched Kansas City's overall losing streak to 12 games.

I'll bet Denver's LB's look across the line and bust out laughing.

We've won ballgames with Huard at the helm before, he doesn't give us a great shot to win, but he alone is not an excuse.

It's 80% of the team and the coaching staff, that's why we lose.
Actually, of all the fabulous quarterbacks on our roster at the moment, Downfield has the best all-time record against the goats. I'm pretty encouraged by that little statistic right there.

FAX
Fax, I usually enjoy your insights but I'm not so sure that being the "best" of the quarterbacks WE HAVE is reason for encouragement.

I disagree. The Donks play D as if the quarterback is wearing one of those "don't hit me" jerseys. The only way Huard gets knocked out of the game is if he sacks/hurts himself.

He'll have all day to throw.

Unfortunately this is exactly the type of game that the Donks have problems with. Dropping a game to a team they should stomp. This has all the makings of an upset. I hope that's not the way it works out, but I'm not giving the good guys a W yet.

The chiefs have sumtin' fo dey ass...belee dat!

I'm not willing to just throw reg season games down the toilet like they're preseason games to see if a 7th rd pick from ECC that we picked up off of waivers list, can hack it in this league when most players from rounds 6-7 don't make rosters anyway. Hey lets see what James Killian can do.

What Thigpen needs is NFL Europe. Which they dont have anymore. Thigpen could work on his pocket presence and accuracy and then we might have something down the road......it would be a long shot but maybe after he gets some live game experience under his belt.

But to ask him to just come out of the gates against another teams starting defense at this high of level and expect the team to win let alone improve......is not only stupid.....but decisions like that should get head coaches fired. You find out about this kinda shit in preseason.....not reg season games.

Regardless of what players have said in the locker room. There is a losing mentality on this team when Thigpen plays. He's throwing picks left and right, putting defenses in awful positions to make any kind of plays or preventing them from stopping anyone. That right there drives this teams morale.....or whats left of it at this point....straight into the ground.

Do you really think our team coming out of the tunnel would think they have any chance against Denver with Thigpen starting??? what they say on camera is cliche and they don't wanna badmouth their teammates, but inside you know what players like LJ, TonyG and Waters are thinking. They are walking out of the tunnel at Arrowhead knowing their asses are about to get handed to them.
What Thigpen (and ALL our QB's) need more than anything is a LEGIT QB COACH.

Armadillo Man is good, Mr. old_geezer. No question about it. But, I'm kinda partial to "The Amazing Rolly Polly Bug Boy", myself.

This was on my ESPN fantasy update email....

5. Jake Plummer comes out of retirement, sans beard, and leads the Chiefs to the Super Bowl: Yeah, right. Just seeing if you were paying attention. But hey, the Rams, Titans and Vikings have turned over starting duties to Trent Green, Kerry Collins and Gus Frerotte, respectively … let's make this 2005 QB reunion complete!
