KFFL: Edwards to take some time before deciding future...

NFL | Edwards to take some time before deciding future
Fri, 23 Jan 2009 15:06:13 -0800

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards said he will take the weekend before deciding his future. He said he will either take some time off, work in television or take a defensive backs coaching position. He does not want to be a defensive coordinator.

Anyone think it's possible that Pioli has offered Herm the Defensive Backs Coaching position?

Do you think Pioli has the audacity to offer Herm the Defensive Backs Coaching job, or Herm have the humility to consider?

Is there anything to this, or is he done in Kansas City all together?

Herm probably is consulting with Dick "the wind beneath my wings" Curl before he makes any final decisions.

In a word ... NO!!! How would you like to be the coach and have the former coach looking over your shoulder? Not going to happen!!!

I'd be really surprised if his coaching days aren't over.
As my college coaching baby brother says, teams/schools should hire winning coaches. (He is amazed at how often they hire good ole boys or something thinking they will succeed), Herm is not a winner. Case closed.

I'm not convinced he is a good talent scout. We have some good talent but not a lot of great talent.

Right!!! Or, never could coach as his record indicates.

True! Yes, a lot of the blame goes to Carl. He should have started the rebuild even the first year he arrived instead of lying to us that the offense would continue as it did the year before. But, he did give us a chance of a QBOTF, if Pioli deterimes there is one at #3. We should appreciate Herm having the guts to do that. There is some young talent on the team. But, I don't agree with the statement that he deserves another year coz he started the rebuild. He is just not a winning coach. Tony or Waters mentioned he lost the locker room.
