Actually, I'm in favor of this psychology. The ability to recover from adversity is one of the best measurements of the tendency to succeed. You have to put the past behind you. This tactic is as good as any.

Yeah, Vermeil referenced this approach quite often. The interesting thing about this approach is that if you look at a team's W-L record for the last 4 games each year, you can generally get a good indication of how they'll start the next year. Of course, it doesn't apply to all cases... want to caveat that statement before I get "corrected" by someone on the board.
