I agree with the article except for the idea of introducing flags like in the NFL. Flags are stupid. The coach or manager should have no say in what is reviewed. The obvious choice is to have a booth official handle all questionable calls. I don't see why everyone makes this so complicated.

And as for the people who gripe about holding up the action... What's the rush? You're already spending 3+ hours watching a bunch of grown men play a game. If you have something really important to do you should probably be doing it....

I don't know why people care so much about the personal element of umpires in games. I don't give a shit if there are umps or computers governing the game as long as they get it right. I want the calls to be CORRECT. If you have to put machines to work fine. The human element in error should have no bearing of the outcome of a game. I wouldn't be opposed to leaving the balls and strikes to the ump, but all other field calls should be up for review.

IMO anyone who disagrees with this can when their team gets screwed.
