Niswanger's reign of terror ends

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/chi...y/1531813.html

Injury update on Niswanger, Albert

Haley said center Rudy Niswanger’s injured left knee was being examined Monday, and he is not expected to be available for the game at Jacksonville.

Although Wade Smith moved from left tackle and replaced Niswanger against San Diego, he may not play the position against Jacksonville. Haley said backup lineman Andy Alleman is a possibility to play, as well as a practice-squad player Darryl Harris.

“We have some center options, Wade being one of them,” Haley said.

Haley also said starting left tackle Branden Albert, who has missed the last two games because of an ankle injury, is expected to practice this week and be available for Jacksonville.

Unless hes playing a 3-4 defense he would be better off at C than G then. Hell even against a 3-4 he wouldn't be the only guy against the NT.

It DOES NOT MATTER.

Do you know ANYTHING about the guy, or just his name?

He's had back issues dating back to college. Why do you think the Miami Dolphins traded him? He cannot stay healthy.

This isnt a total abortion of a oline:

Albert

Smith
Rudy
Ocallahan

It's pretty close.

The Chiefs must think he has game if they still have him. He must think he has game if he hasn't retired. Play him until he gets hurt, theres no point in having a guy on the roster if your afraid to use him.

Smith can at least play average, whereas Niswanger is garbage at Center.

Alleman isn't a great guard, but he's a huge upgrade over Goff who is an abortion on almost every single play.

This o-line isn't going to be great. But I think it can be upgraded to serviceable if only Haley had the guts to put the right 5 on the field. I don't get it. Smith outplayed Niswanger on Sunday by miles. And Goff has been ****ing up all season long. I just don't get why it's taken him so long to make a move.
I bet Albert's not the starting LT 2 years from now.

I'm not even making that bet.

He has to learn technique. He's not going to learn it right away. If he doesn't learn it, he doesn't play. If he does, he plays. But it's hard to imagine he won't get at least a little better as he becomes more consistent with technique. And right now, I just want improvement from stopgaps until we can finally get some real pieces.

Alleman played in 15 games with the Fins, he couldn't have been that beat up. He is only 3 years out of college. The only time he was listed on the injury report was for a shoulder. I'd put him in at RG for Goff and be done with it.

**** Waters. He's not the future, anyway.
Richardson has had years playing LT with the proper technique, and he's solid, but, while he may be better right now because he has that experience, Albert still has far more potential.

Except for fact that he couldn't practice on Tuesday following the Cowboys game because he had back spasms after only a few series.

Do any of you guys actually FOLLOW the Chiefs?

http://www.kffl.com/player/16316/nfl

Check out how many practices he's misses due to shoulder injuries and back spasms.

The guy can't stay healthy.

Let's just hope he can live up to it.

The interesting thing in watching Albert's attempt to learn technique is he's actually showing just how athletic he is while struggling.

He's setting up with his feet too wide, and most guys can't keep their bodies up to get their hands on the defender when they do that.

Albert, however is getting his body too high.

That is incredibly difficult.
