Draft Scout Scott Long News
10/12/09 - BIG EAST WEEK 6 HONOR ROLL: Scott Long, WR, Louisville — Had five receptions for a career-high 146 yards, including a 92-yard touchdown, in a 25-23 win against Southern Mississippi. - BIG EAST football
10/10/09 - Ryan Payne kicked a 32-yard field goal with 30 seconds to play to give Louisville its first win over a Football Bowl Subdivision team in nearly a year, 25-23, over Southern Mississippi on Saturday night. Wide receiver Scott Long had a career day for the Cardinals, with 146 yards receiving on five catches, plus a touchdown. The Cardinals (2-3) trailed 16-7 at halftime but scored touchdowns, including a 2-point conversion, on their first two possessions of the second half to go ahead 22-16. The Golden Eagles (3-3) took back the lead 23-22 after a 13-yard touchdown run by Tory Harrison. Damion Fletcher and Harrison combined for 161 rushing yards and two touchdowns. A 64-yard kickoff return by Louisville’s Trent Guy after Harrison’s touchdown helped put the Cardinals in position for their game-winning field goal. - AP Sports
10/02/09 - SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: The Cardinals are moving the ball well between the 20s, but seem to stall as soon as the team hits the red zone. Getting touchdowns instead of settling for field-goal attempts is going to be critical if Louisville hopes to score enough points to stay in the game against some of the big-time Big East foes. QUOTE TO NOTE: "This team is right there on the brink; we just have to work a little harder and learn how to respond in those times of adversity.” - WR Scott Long told the Louisville Courier-Journal.
09/21/09 - LOOKING GOOD: Wide receiver Scott Long was a big part of the Cardinals offense, leading the team with five catches for 89 yards vs. Kentucky.
09/05/09 - WR Scott Long missed most of last season, losing nine games to foot and knee injuries. He had four touchdowns in his limited action a year ago, however, and if he's healthy, he's a game-changer on offense.

Aaron Wilson

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...g-combine.html

University of Louisville wide receiver Scott Long had an extremely strong NFL scouting combine, boosting his stock with several eye-catching tests.

The 6-foot-2, 216-pounder ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds and had the best vertical leap with a 41 ½ inch showing.

He had the fastest three-cone drill with a time of 6.45 seconds, had the second-fastest 20-yard shuttle run with a 4.05 time and the top 60-yard shuttle time in 11.06 seconds.

He tied Arrelious Benn and Donald Jones for the most repetitions of 225 pounds in the bench press test with 20 reps apiece.

He finished in the top 10 in every category with the highest point total overall at his position.

Last season, Long caught 53 passes for 727 yards and two touchdowns.

According to a league source, Long has drawn interest from the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets, among other teams.

Per a source, Long has a good reputation as a strong-character individual.

Reminds me of Lance Leggett.
