I signed out on terminal leave in 1999, and I still remember the feeling very well. Enjoy those first few months, after a while I began to miss the exciting times and realized how boring the 'real world' was. Then I think back to the times when an entire company of EM would be picking up cigarette butts and gum wrappers on a parade field for TEN HOURS and was glad I was a civilian again. Enjoy the freedom that you made sacrifices to protect. You deserve it. And, USE THE SHIT outta that GI Bill. That is the highest yield investment I ever made, and will continue paying dividends the rest of my life.
