CHARGERS: Butler likely out for season with injury

BY SCOTT BAIR - [email protected]

SAN DIEGO -- Inside linebacker Donald Butler, the Chargers' third-round pick in 2010, is likely done for the season due to an Achilles' tendon injury suffered in Tuesday afternoon's practice.

I put "manage" because our defense is balls.
He was definitely not 5th round potential. He's a very talented player.

Uhhh, yes he was. Every single draftnik had him going in the 5th round. The Chargers were given a D for their 3rd round pick and Butler was the slowest player outside of lineman taken in the 3rd round.

They liked that he has great instinct, but the Chargers always pick players before they are projected to be taken just to ensure they get them (Ryan Mathews, Donald Butler, Antoine Cason, Eric Weddle).
