They are dominating their division (granted the AL west is down this year this year) right now and aside from the losing streak they are currently on look primed for a deep playoff run. The point is they didn't get where they are this season by accident, their roster is stocked with young talent they've been developing with the addition of key FAs.

The Royals currently have the best minor league system in the entire league and will also soon be stocked with young talent, which is why smart KC fans are excited about the future.
