Chiefs add RB Draughn to Practice Squad

Chiefs Add A Running Back To The Practice Squad
by Joel Thorman on Oct 5, 2011 8:21 AM CDT

The Kansas City Chiefs announced they've signed RB Shaun Draughn to the practice squad. To make room for him, OT Butch Lewis was released.

Draughn entered the league as an undrafted free agent this year joining the Washington Redskins before training camp and getting released at the final cut down. Lewis originally came to the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent this year.

The 6'0", 205 pound running back went to North Carolina (originally as a safety). Here's a little bit from the Chiefs release:

He produced 451 carries for 2,070 yards (4.6 avg.) with 10 touchdowns and caught 50 passes for 268 yards (5.4 avg.) with a score at North Carolina. The Tarboro, N.C. native was a three-year starter at Tarboro High School where he rushed for 1,452 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior.

Here's his NFL Draft Scout bio.

He'll be on the practice squad -- not the active roster -- so the Chiefs running back situation on gameday remains the same.

In a nanosecond. Draft Luck #1, trade down out of #5 for an extra pick in 2012 or 2013.

His question was intended to mean that #5 overall pick.

Sure. Either way. RBs are a dime a dozen and franchise QBs are not.

I figured everyone would say yes to that question but what the heck. Hypotheticals are fun. How about the #5 1st round pick, Charles, Hali, and next years 1st and 2nd?

......and we have to stick with McGraw and Piscitelli as our starting safeties for the next 2 seasons. Berry can play on special teams.
