"6. Was the defense the worst of the two? I can make a case for that too. What happened to Tamba Hali? I'll tell you what happened, Jake Long happened. Dude showed why he was the very first pick in the 2008 NFL draft. He stoned Hali. Just stoned him. The times Hali did manage to clear Long's block, the Fish had a back in protection to double team him. "
I said the same thing to my Dolphins buddy. He said Long has been a weak spot all year. But he looked 100 lbs bigger than Hali. If they moved Hali around or started both him and Houston from same side, I didn't see it. He had all day. Miami matched up well against us, outplayed us and schemed us better. Definitely took advantage of our safeties and threw it at will over the middle.

I'm really lost with this team. I want to say they need a pass rush probably a little more than they need a quarterback, and half the reason they keep getting choke slammed and blown out by random teams is there's no rush to disrupt the other teams rhythem, which then puts pressure on one of the least compossed quarterbacks in the NFL to move the ball. Seems to be a vicous cycle and if they could pick up a Kerrigan-type player in the draft this year, to go a long with a non-crippled berry, they could start wrecking sht. I actually think Haley's done a good job holding the team together and handling the season though, people should't be jumping to conclusions there...

Todd Haley, rookie head coach, came into KC and took this team to a division title in his second year, his second... far bigger coaching names have taken a lot longer to claim as much, with a team in such a longstanding, abysmal shithole.
Not to mention that he did it with a bevy of picks & signings that have sometimes been less than stellar, as you are keen to point out, dont equate some jersey shore rejects dumb move with Haley not being a positive force for this team, warts & all... c'mon, you cant truthfully say that he hasnt changed the culture in a positive way. |

Tyson Jackson consistently gets more pressure on the QB than Dorsey ever does. Dorsey usually gets pretty well stoned at the POA and TJ pushes his guy clear back to the QB quite often. It's like he doesn't really try to get off of the block and go after the QB though. Just pushes him back and puts his hands in the air. Has a few batted passes to his name though.

I would like to thank all of the players for the Kansas City Chiefs who left me with horrible memories from my return trip to Arrowhead. I hadn't been to a game there since 1987 and I drove 1,000 miles to see their "effort". Thanks again!
On the bright side, I did enjoy meeting Keith Cash. My favorite Chiefs memory is of him spiking the ball on that huge picture of Buddy Ryan's face in the endzone in Houston. |
