Don't kid yourself, that was an impressive feat. The list of teams that went from 2-14 or worse one year, then made the playoffs the next is very small. I think the Dolphins a few years back is one of the few other teams to do that.

And it's not just that they were 2-14, but a complete trainwreck on and off the field. Lawsuits, a culture of fear, a player killing himself at the stadium. That season is probably the complete low point of a franchise that's had plenty. And Reid washed it away in a year. Even if he never wins a title that was a monumental accomplishment. I thought he had no chance.

That same team that went 2-14 was essentially the same team that went 7-9 year before with Tyler Palko running the show. It was still an average roster wise (same players that really made the difference were already on the roster), it just had a better coaching in 2013 than 2012.
