Is West the next big thing in KC back field?

I have to admit I like the kid. No JC by any stretch but he has some punch to him.

I don't know if he will be the "next big thing", but I think he will be adequate.
We'll never see it. Dude is going to be looking at 9 man boxes and a bottom third run blocking unit. Jamaal Charles can turn a tiny crease into something significant. More importantly he almost always has the speed to get around the edge if there isn't a crease. West isn't that guy. He may be good, but his stats are going to be FULL of negative plays.

Unless they just say **** it and tell Alex that it is 2 minute drill all day every day. Then he might catch some passes for gain.

Bottom line: he's not a good enough talent to overcome the ****fest that is the Chiefs Offense. Charles was.

Not even Charles was (1-4...)

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Hard to run with a crappy line and the opposing defense always stuffing the box because your QB can't throw more than 3 yards.

We will probably break West's confidence when he gets 21 carries for 44 yards next week.
