Do we rest starters in Week 17?

Hypothetical:

We win the next 3 games against the Chargers, Ravens and Browns....and we lock up the #5 seed in the playoffs. Going into Week 17 against the Raiders....do we sit starters so that we don't have anyone get injured? Or do you play starters in Week 17 to keep the momentum going?

If its a meaningless game it would make zero sense to play and risk injuring the starters.

I don't know.

I can't say with any certainty, but it seems to me that teams that rest starters going onto the playoffs generally struggle in their first playoff games.

I'd rest players with some dings, but I wouldn't rest healthy starters.

Give them a half, at the very least.

This comes from the "Hey, let's get way ahead of ourselves now.." department, but since you asked. If we win the next three, and the Broncos lose the next three (including the Division game against the Raiders, then at Pittsburgh, and home against Cinci), then aren't we playing for the Division title in Week 17, hoping for some Charger magic against the Broncos in the late game? This week's Raiders game is the key to this consideration.

If the Broncos lose 3 of their last 4 and the Chiefs win out, Kansas City wins the division. Or in other words if they have the same record.

However, that's extremely unlikely.

This is where I am. As flat as this team comes out in the beginning of some games, we don't need to try to initiate that externally.

I'm with you on this. I'd feel better if Houston was back and the OLine wasn't all shuffled. The Oak game was closer than the scoreboard shows.

Momentum baby, keep it going. As others have said you rest anyone who is slightly injured and you play everyone else.
