Surprised that Luck signed an extension. With Grigson somehow keeping his job, if I was Luck I would be counting the days till I could GTFO.

It would have been foolish to refuse that money.

Luck could suffer a career ending injury in 2016 and never have an opportunity like that again.

When you look at it objectively, you have to understand that to be a real contender year after year, you need a franchise QB.

But you also need to have talent surrounding that QB on both sides of the ball.

The Pats are serious contenders, and find themselves in SBs so often because Brady take less than market value which allows Bellichick to build around him.

Drew Brees took a huge chunk of the cap, and the Saints have been mediocre or worse since.

Aaron Rodgers is the best in the league, but the Pack have not been able to advance since Rodgers got paid because they simply don't have the cap to keep enough talent surrounding him.

Pretty much, but what's the alternative? Let your qb (luck in this situation) walk? That would be tough to swallow.

In the end, it's all about acquiring cheap talent in whichever way possible

The Packers have done a poor job of drafting since 2010, when John Schneider left, which became even weaker after John Dorsey left.

Brian Bulaga, Derrick Sherrod and Nick Perry were their first rounders from 2010-2012, followed by Datone Jones and Ha Ha Clinton Dix. That's not exactly a bounty.

They've hit on some Day 3 guys, mostly in 2010 (Mike Neal, Morgan Burnett, Marshall Newhouse, CJ Wilson and James Starks) using Schneider's scouting reports but not very many since.

Ted Thompson is overrated.

Not every team is allowed to pay their QB under the table.

I'm just saying, Wilson takes care of the ball. Luck didn't "DESERVE" this contract but I under why they had to do it.

I think Luck can be great, I just think hes way closer to a Bret Farve then he is to a Tom Brady.
We'll never know as Hoodie will never coach Luck. But I think he could win some games with him!!

You build a team around him by drafting well and making good football decisions (which the Colts haven't done) They had him on his rookie contract, they should have brought in guys to try and "win now" while they where getting a break on the pay he was receiving. But instead they sqandered their opportunities, traded a first round pick for a guy who was a bust already. They've got a long road ahead of them, and it won't even start until they fire their GM. Maybe in a few years they'll clean house and bring Harbaugh in to coach.
