Dallas, TX to Savannah, GA - February 1982, drove a 1976 Honda Civic that I had bought new for $3300, took 21 hours.
![]() Pensacola, FL to Baltimore, MD - January 1996, I think it was about 18 hours. Drove a 1988 Chevy Corsica, and decided I would never own a car again without an center armrest. ![]() Tulsa, OK to Pensacola, FL - 1980, don't remember the month, but I heard "Spirit of Radio" by Rush and "Victims of the Fury" by Robin Trower for the first time on the radio. Drove a 1980 Mazda 626 I bought new for $6600. ![]() |

While I'm posting car photos, the fastest I've ever driven was 122 mph. The reason I remember is I leased a new 1986 VW Scirocco Silver 5 speed, just like the photo, and in the manual it said, top speed 122. I lived near Savannah, so I took it to the back roads of Ft. Stewart (Army base) Georgia and put the pedal to the floor and the speedometer stuck on 122, I thought that pretty neat to be that accurate.
