Clear empirical data.
7.0 is pretty bad. Everyone here is sportin' 9.0 or better.

Didn't answer because 'smart' is too subjective. I'm science, math and tech smart yet geography, spelling and history dumb.

If this was in the DC, I could say that I know I'm smarter than average because half of the people in this country are democrats/republicans and therefore stupid.

A surveyors 100' steel tape expands and contracts because of heat and cold temperature. So he has it calibrated at 68F. The surveyors chain has a temperature coefficient of .00000645.

What measurement correction does the surveyor need to make on a 12F day to precisely measure 100' with his calibrated tape?

What correction on a 98F day to measure 100'?

All US survey foot. No SI units.

There are alot of crazies/weirdos on here, but there is only 1 person on this entire site that I would say has below average intelligence. This assumption is based on the person's posting style and the interactions I have had with him on this site. I've never met CPs dumbest member in person and I really don't think I would like to.

Let's get to the name

Drum roll please

I failed to mention us survey foot is Tenths of a foot. Carry out to 3 decimal places feet tenths hundredths and thousandths like a micrometer.

When we a done we can do steel tape sag correction for unsupported tape using the weight of tape pound of pull for 100 feet to apply to the measurements above.

Maybe go on for correction over long distances curvature and refraction like the US Geodetic surveyors used on triangulation stations across the USA.

All can be expected on the US Professional Land surveyors test to be licensed.

I had instructors who always said that but not true.

Land Surveyors in Canada have it harder I always heard as they settle land disputes. So more schooled in Law. In the states, we just retrace and collect information and legal disputes are settled in court with finale say the judge. We take a state-specific test on Boundry Law and Riparian rights.
