Question: Shutting off your vehicle.

Imagine that you're driving down the road. It's a warm day and it's raining, so you've got the air conditioner on and the wipers on a slow interval. The radio is booming out Chumbawumba's song Tubthumping. (If for some reason you don't enjoy Tubthumping you may substitute another song. But at least give Tubthumping some consideration.)

You arrive home. What do you do?

I turn the ignition off and go inside.

I make sure that all secondary systems (A/C, radio, wipers, etc.) are off before turning off the ignition.

Something in between. I turn off some systems but not all.

Unless it's SUPER cold, you don't really need to do that anymore.

My girlfriend likes to just park and turn off the ignition. The amount of times we get in her car to the music blasting is too damned high. Personally I think only a ****ing psycho could keep doing that and not change their behavior after like the third time of being scared shitless but what do I know..
My wife does this. Drives me insane. Every time I get in her car and start it, she has some bubble gum pop music station blaring at Megadeath concert level.

Another thing she does that drives me nuts is get home and sit in her car on her phone for 15 minutes with the engine idling. I’m like SHUT THE DAMN CAR OFF.

Same here. I always thought that needless idling is bad for the car.

LOL

I’m guilty of just sitting in my car on my phone for a bit sometimes but I definitely shut the engine off. That’s just a crazy waste of resources.

That time is definitely therapeutic, though!

If she's in a garage, you should consider increasing her life insurance.
