I’m doubtful the season will last very long, TBH. Maybe with full face shields, whole body underarmour body suits under the pads and daily checks it can happen...but a lot of things need to be adhered to for the season to take place and run its course.

You know how to Make it happen?

If you have x amount of coronavirus cases, you forfeit that weeks game. The players with positive tests forfeit their game check.

The teams that are following protocols will win a lot of their games by forfeit...and the ones that don’t, won’t. The leaders would make sure everyone is doing what they need to.
Do whatever it takes. If this is the only way, then do it.

However, not to poke holes in it, but I could easily see the scenario of

Team A has its shit together

Team B doesn't have its shit together.

Team A and B play each other. Team B puts guys on the field who come up negative in their testing because it falls within that window of contracting the virus while still appearing negative.

Next week, Team B obviously has its problems, but all of a sudden Team A also gets ****ed because they played each other.

Still baffles me how some teams are going to allow fans to attend these games and maintain social distancing.

Chiefs are lucky the stadium is across from the facility. But how does it work when the games start. I know the rosters shrink, but still.

To me these teems better start building expanded lorckerrooms at facilities and stadiums.

I really don’t think playing is gonna be that big of an issue. It’s in ventilated outdoor stadiums

It’s the off fields where they’ll get ****ed

The NFL and NFLPA have already proactively addressed the off field issues... with specific activities that players are prohibited from engaging in and most importantly actual punishments for players who violate these rules... fines and potentially losing game checks.

It is strange to see fans so dug in on not having a season. Every time any athlete in the world test positive- even with zero symptoms- they post- "The season is over!!"

The Chiefs would not have spent all the money and energy changing their entire process if there was not a season.

Managing Covid is going to be a Key to winning this year.

Not one major sports league has cancelled their season. People really think the NFL is going to? They will delay/suspend before they cancel.

Not trying to start a political thread here, but some of the people saying to cancel the season are also cavalierly talking about how we as a society just need to suck it up and deal with the virus. Why should athletes be excluded from that happy jolly cluster**** party?

We're really going to find out, since the linemen are all up in each other's business 70-80 times a game.

Either way, even if there isn't team to team transmission, the key is going to be teams not spreading it among themselves. There's less travel but the teams are twice as big as baseball. Your odds of someone getting it are definitely going to be higher.

A bubble of some kind is the only chance of us having a season.
Well the question is how much close contact, especially indoors, do the players really need to play professional football? I honestly don't know. I know I could have easily played high school football w/o a locker room, or contact drills, or any close contact other than the game. But I could see where the pro level might be a completely different animal with infinitely more routines, trainers, 2-man stretches, or whatever.

It's like IT security. The NBA has a firewall model, but once your inside the firewall you're in. If the NFL isn't going to have a firewall, then they need a zero trust model. Even inside the compound, assume every other player and coach could have covid and plan accordingly.

Yeah, but they aren't just casually running past each other. They are repeatedly humling each other for 15 second intervals 60 times a game.
