Especially given that the Ravens weren’t particularly sharp on offense, and your D was playing well. Boot the damn ball through the end zone and make them go 75 yards. Something they hadn’t done all game.

The gain doesn’t outweigh the risk in that particular moment. The result speaks for itself.
See, and not to be a jerk, but I disagree. I think it was a pretty good time to try a sky-kick. It could've really piled on the pressure for the Ravens if they'd muffed it, or only gotten back to the 20 or whatever. The Ravens were kind of reeling at that point, and a less-than-successful kick return might've really had them on their heels.

But those guys over there get paid just like our players do, and they made a play. A really good one. But the odds were in our favor, so why not be aggressive and take a chance when we had a two score lead?

In this particular case, it didn't work, they made a great play, but it didn't change the outcome of the game at all. The Chiefs still dominated that game in all phases, and KC controlled that game from their first series on.

I mean, we can't expect our coaches/players to be perfect on every play or play-call. And we can't expect the other team to just lie down for us either.

At the end of the day a coupe of our players didn't execute as perfectly as we would've liked, and the Ravens players made a great play. Don't see that as damning for our side. This stuff happens in football.

Agree to disagree. I don’t take “muffing” a kickoff as very likely. What’s likely is a tackle at, let’s say, the 15-20 yard line vs. a complete flip in field position. The risk isn’t worth the reward with old Mo’ solidly on your side.

With how bad the tackling has been, and how limited the offseason was, especially for special teams reps...it was a bad decision. One the coaching staff didn’t make again in the NE game.

Clutch? You’re thinking of the wrong Williams.

They cut kemp who then resigned to the practice squad.
