I did a thing and bought my first truck

As the title says, I bought my first truck ever yesterday. I've always had cars due to cost, fuel economy, etc etc and I've always wanted a truck but they can be GD expensive. I had been looking for a while and finally just bit the bullet and went for it.

2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn

Anyways, I don't have a lot of friends to share it with and stuff so I figured I would share it here.

Congrats! You won’t regret it. I have a 2500 in the same color, just with the blackout badges.

Funny enough, I switched from a 19 Challenger to a 19 Ram Big Horn this year. No hemi though, which is great for my wallet but I do notice the torque difference substantially. I'm just puttering around town and usually not hauling shit, so I suppose I don't need the hemi. But I want one real bad.

I mean my old man's been buying Chevy pickups since I was 8 - by all rights I should be a Chevy fan. But I have always found those interiors pedestrian as hell.
I get the 2007-2013 Chevy's. They weren't great. But in 2014 GM changed their interiors, and in at least the better trim levels, it was a damned fine pickup. Interior and exterior styling were excellent, and probably the most comfortable pickup I've ever driven. Until someone crushed it, then I won't like I appreciated the safety shit I never pay attention to.

If they had 1. Better lights, and 2. All the bluetooth Apple Carplay stuff and the better display, I'd prefer them to the new ones.

The lights on the new ones legitimately kick ass. Don't know about RAM, but they're probably equivalent.

I'm probably sticking with GM for the long term, as the only dealer local is GM. But I'm not dying on a hill for any pickup. I'm savagely capitalistic with my work wagons. But GM makes good pickups. Not perfect but good.

I'll certainly look around the next time I'm due one.

Now I'm jealous. I love that Ram blue.

Mine's black but you just couldn't find that limited indigo frost interior on a blue one. I found a maroon one in Kentucky but they wanted to dick around with me on the price.

Then Jim Butler made me a screaming deal on the black one with the indigo frost interior with the ram boxes and the hybird. It was the perfect truck...just black. If I'd have found a blue one I'd have paid another few thousand for it. That's such a sharp blue.

But oh well - I guess I'll just have to live with what I've got...

I REALLY don't enjoy "car shopping." Dealerships just feel like a dirty place to spend time at. I told the salesman I like the Patriot Blue 1500s, they had one, and after a couple hours thinking at home after the test drive, I went back and got the keys.
