This is one of those games where you probably want to play contain on the outside and only force the middle. Play 7 back and make them play small ball from the pocket.
Good point.

It will definitely be interesting to see what Spags chooses to do today. Due to personnel issues, we know the game plan we see today will not be the same one the Bills see again in the playoffs (assuming we meet again, of course).

So will this be a shell game? We will be overly conservative keeping everyone back and force Allen to hit his windows. Will Spags just go all out and blitz like crazy bringing pressure from everywhere (Hello Sneed) to try and force the Bills into making mistakes, due to overly quick decisions.

I’m really interested to see how they play it because we know whatever game plan we do see today will not be what we see again in the playoffs, if/when that time comes.

More of a chess game than checkers, if you will.

It's an interesting conundrum.

On one hand, we're starting two rookies at corner; are down Gay as a coverage backer, short a S, and a DT.

Being short some cover guys kind of makes me think perhaps Spags throws caution to the wind and blitzes like mad with the idea that we get a couple of big plays out of it and that's enough to win.

OR...

Perhaps he rushes four and sits back in zone and forces them to dink and dunk. Problem is, I don't know if we can win that game. If we don't pressure the throw, I don't like Diggs and Davis with time to separate.

Yeah, I think Spags has to work with the premise that he needs to keep Allen in the pocket, or force him to his left if he's going to send blitzers. Can't blitz him all the time, or without a plan, or Allen will escape and hurt us with his legs and arm. But he's been pretty good about that sort of thing. The real question is will our new pieces up front be good enough to get it done.

As i've said since preseason, I think this defense is going to be a work in progress until sometime after midseason. At this point I'm used to it, so while our secondary isn't as good as I'd like them to be, I also know that they'll probably be much better as the season goes along.

Today they're going to get torched a bit, but Spags will learn a lot from it, and so will our Dbs. But I'm going to be very interested to see how our DL does. Wish Gay was playing; he just covers up so many flaws with his sheer athleticism.

Josh Allen is a weirdo teenage girl with bulimia. Maybe if he weren't such a fatass, the football gods would find him more attractive to gift a playoff win against KC

In all likelihood, we beat them last season because of a coin toss. I wouldn’t call that making them our bitches.

Good game, Bills trolls . . . . . I mean Bills fans.

You won the regular season matchup, we’ll pay you back in the playoffs just like last year.

See you in January.
