Firming up the swing tackle spot (i.e. if Morris can continue to play well and Niang stays healthy) could allow us to carry fewer OL as well. 9 is 'standard' but we could conceivably roll 8. We'd like have to expose Prince and Kinnard to do so, but Kinnard is probably a PS guy at this stage of his development anyway.

I could see Bell and Fortson being odd men out at this point as well. Fortson just ain't here. Bell is a known quantity and teams aren't lining up to grab him. Kelce/Gray/Bushman can get the job done, IMO.

There's room to carry 7. I wouldn't even keep Buechele on the 53 - if he's sniped, he's sniped. Neither he or Gabbert are taking us anywhere meaningful anyway and Gabbert can hold down the fort for a game or 2 just fine.

We have a lot of question marks at WR and some injury issues to think about as well. As it stands, I'm taking Toney, MVS, James, Moore, Rice, Ross and Remigio into week 1. I have a hard time believing Rice and Remigio can't play STs and Ross can do some of the red zone stuff we were having Fortson do given his size and body control.

Nic Jones getting hurt might throw a wrench in things as I think he was definitely lined out for a lot of STs work.

Because they were already here. Wasn't this shit already addressed in the depth chart thread. Want to wager which of the three has more catches this year?

Yeah I'm not sure why I'm supposed to be impressed with Watson's snap counts. So he did jack shit with more opportunities and Ross and Remigio flashed constantly with less?

Who is excited about Watson? Anyone think he's worth keeping over Ross? Like, sell me on that notion.

I think we may be a bit optimistic. If he puts up 500 yards, that's great.

If he gets a lot of snaps he will get a lot of yards if he’s actually getting open. Mahomes will find him.

Firmly agree. They're going to keep Watosn, though. So it all has to work around that.

He IS probably a better backup for Valdes-Scantling at that component in the offense than anyone other than Toney, though. James might be able to do some of that.

Definitely possible. Looking at his stats, he’s generally been a 500-700 yard kind of guy while playing with Rodgers and Mahomes. Nearing 700 seems difficult for him so me expecting 800 might be a stretch.

Though I will say that we are likely to have injury issues this year as well, just instead of Juju being hurt, it’ll be Toney. If Toney goes down, you’re looking at rookie Rice, sophomore Skyy and journeyman James at the top of the WR depth chart. If that comes to pass and MVS doesn’t approach 800, I am going to say right now that I’ll be disappointed he couldn’t turn it up a notch.
